Black History Month event upcoming

LANCASTER — Nonprofit organization Solé of the CommUNITY will host “Black History Month: Stories from Our Past,” a virtual storytelling workshop during February, which is Black History Month.

The virtual events will be held at 6 p.m. each Thursday in February. There will be five events, concluding on Feb. 29.

The presenters scheduled to share their stories are Mr. DOZ, a strategic project manager and renowned community activist; Ansar “Stan” Muhammad, CEO of The HELPER Foundation; Aziza Shephard of The Ohana Center; Lancaster Deputy Mayor Shawn Cannon, Democratic mayoral candidate for the City of Lancaster; and Diana Love, secretary for the California Democratic Party.
